On Your Bike

I decided to set myself a challenge. I was going to complete a bike ride around New York and San Francisco and I wouldn't even need my passport. How you may ask, well thanks to the new VRX-Biking Class I got the chance to do just that.
It’s a virtual bike ride on a Trixter X-Bike that basically does everything your normal bike would do, which is ideal for people like me, who can’t actually ride a real bike.

Now I must admit I thought I was prepared, I’ve been to spinning classes and may have occasionally channel hoped passed the Tour de France, so I thought I was ready. But boy was I ever so slightly wrong.
You work out in front of a visual screen so you can see yourself going through the different courses. There are 6 in total and you can work at your own pace, by using the different resistance settings.
There’s a lot of movement involved during the course including occasionally jumping over bumps. But the best bit for me is that the handle bars move, allowing you to turn corners and weave in and out of traffic.
This really gives your upper body a total work out, plus you can burn up to 500 calories during a half hour class.

Believe me it really works you out. So be prepared to feel the burn, I know I did.

If you want to get a body like Caprice, you better get on your X-Bike.

The Greatest Fashion Show on Earth

The Greatest Fashion Show on Earth (that’s the title by the way) took place at Westfield London. It was held in collaboration with the British Fashion Council, which supports Fashion For Relief. The aim of the night was to raise money for the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood which benefits mothers and babies in Haiti.
The show was hosted by George Lamb, with music provided by The Urban Soul Orchestra String and the Fresh Sound Choir. There was also a live performance by Jessie J, who was dressed in a Pam Hogg black catsuit that modestly covered her private parts. Watch out for her she’s going to be huge!
The fashion show was styled by Charlie Anderson and was produced by London Fashion Week’s OnOff designers, The Doll. It featured 54 of the latest looks, from the high street to designers. In total over 700 of the top fashion brands were featured.

As well as a fashion show and the usual cocktails and champagne, was a raffle. They also auctioned off some goodies including this dress.

The fashion show ended on a high with the designer Pam Hogg taking to the decks, to DJ us into the night with some good old fashion rock 'n' roll music.

Henry Holland has his debut at Debenhams

Henry Holland unveiled his new collection H! at the Debenhams store on Oxford Street. Fronting the launch of his collection will be his close friend and muse Pixie Geldof.

The first 50 that turned up, were in for a real treat. As not only did they get to meet the man himself, but they were also given a signed bagazine clutch bag (think bag + magazine = bagazine).

Expect to see lots of bright floral prints, polka-dots, stripes and plaid. The full collection includes 80 pieces of womenswear separates, along with 150 pieces of accessories and swimwear.

Introducing Influence by Martine McCutcheon

Martine has been very busy lately with lots of new projects. She's just had her first novel, 'The Mistress' published and now she’s ready to take on the likes of Colin & Justin and Laura Ashley, by launching her very own linen and accessories range.
Feathers are going to be her signature so expect to see it featured on all of her collection. Martine describes the ideas and inspiration behind her new range.

“I particularly like the French style from Purism vintage flea markets, to the more decadent kind of art deco period and hopefully that’s come across in my collection.
I think it’s important for everybody to have their own little palace in their bedroom and to be able to have something that’s affordable and luxurious looking is something I know that I would love, so that’s what I’ve tried to do.” Martine
