Clearasil's Ultra New Overnight Range

Now without going into too much detail, I’m always guaranteed to get a spot village on some part of my face during that special time of the month. So when I herd Clearasil was launching a new Overnight Range, I decided to put it to its toughest test, my PMT/PMS spot village.

The new range consists of 3 products: Clearasil Night Wash, 150 or 200 ml (£5.28) contains a gel with ingredients that are tough on spots, but kind to your skin and it smells nice too.
Clearasil all-over-face lotion, 40 ml (£5.28) helps to prevent and treat spots, while also preparing your skin for the overnight treatment. I found it easily absorbed into my skin, but didn’t leave it feeling or looking greasy.
And finally there’s the Clearasil Overnight Serum, 15ml (£6.99) which acts as a specialist treatment for spots. Simply apply to the affected area and voila the serum will work its magic to rid you of your spots.

Now to the question, did it pass my PMT/PMS spot village test? Well I’m happy to say it passed with flying colours.
So yes, I have decided to include Clearasil's Ultra New Overnight Range to my bathroom cabinet. I’d advise you to do the same.

Star Style - Sophie Ellis-Bextor

Max C bird print dress £45

Upper 5th Georgie cardi £45

Jane Norman bag £12

It’s been ten years since Sophie Ellis-Bextor took on Posh Spice in the battle of the charts.
Fast forward a few years, Sophie now has two children and is married to Richard Jones from The Feeling.

From the look of this photo Sophie still likes to have fun with her style. So it’s nice to see motherhood hasn’t affected her ability to still keep up with the trends.
To get Sophie’s look just head to Max C for the dress, Upper 5th for the cardi and Jane Norman for the bag. Although I personally wouldn’t attempt the socks and shoes, not really suitable for this outfit I think.

Sophie will be releasing her album, Straight To The Heart, in the summer.

Lady Gaga in Giorgio Armani

For her appearance on American Idol Lady Gaga performed in an outfit specially made for her by Giorgio Armani.

She was dressed in a silk mesh bodysuit with embroidered Chantilly lace and crystal and jet beading, teamed with a silk organza cape with an embroidered hood and black patent stiletto boots. Describing the inspiration behind the design Giorgio Armani said,
“To complement the spirit of Lady Gaga herself, I have let my imagination run free, and the outfit I have created for her for American Idol is pure fantasy."

Even though she looked fabulous, there was something Lady Gaga wasn’t happy about and she took to her twitter account to explain why,
“Fox chopped up my performance in 4 places”.

Christine's Cupcakes Wins Simply Yours Competition

When Christine Pipes, a teacher at the Royal Grammar School in Jesmond Newcastle, entered the Simply Yours Brief to Bra competition she got her inspiration from two things, a set of recently purchased retro mugs and some cupcakes baked for her school’s charity week.

"The appeal of cupcakes in the retro design and the feminine pastel shades are subtle but still vibrant. My aim was to find a balance between the comfort and practicality of everyday wear and the elegance and femininity that all women should embrace.”
Christine Pipes.

The design will be produced and sold both in the Simply Yours catalogue and online at www.simplyyours.co.uk. In addition Christine will be involved in the development of the lingerie set, from the materials sourcing stage right through to the final product photo shoot.

On Your Bike

I decided to set myself a challenge. I was going to complete a bike ride around New York and San Francisco and I wouldn't even need my passport. How you may ask, well thanks to the new VRX-Biking Class I got the chance to do just that.
It’s a virtual bike ride on a Trixter X-Bike that basically does everything your normal bike would do, which is ideal for people like me, who can’t actually ride a real bike.

Now I must admit I thought I was prepared, I’ve been to spinning classes and may have occasionally channel hoped passed the Tour de France, so I thought I was ready. But boy was I ever so slightly wrong.
You work out in front of a visual screen so you can see yourself going through the different courses. There are 6 in total and you can work at your own pace, by using the different resistance settings.
There’s a lot of movement involved during the course including occasionally jumping over bumps. But the best bit for me is that the handle bars move, allowing you to turn corners and weave in and out of traffic.
This really gives your upper body a total work out, plus you can burn up to 500 calories during a half hour class.

Believe me it really works you out. So be prepared to feel the burn, I know I did.

If you want to get a body like Caprice, you better get on your X-Bike.

For more information about VRX-Biking at Everyone Active visit www.everyoneactive.co.uk, to find out more about VRX-Biking in general visit www.trixter.net

The Greatest Fashion Show on Earth

The Greatest Fashion Show on Earth (that’s the title by the way) took place at Westfield London. It was held in collaboration with the British Fashion Council, which supports Fashion For Relief. The aim of the night was to raise money for the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood which benefits mothers and babies in Haiti.
The show was hosted by George Lamb, with music provided by The Urban Soul Orchestra String and the Fresh Sound Choir. There was also a live performance by Jessie J, who was dressed in a Pam Hogg black catsuit that modestly covered her private parts. Watch out for her she’s going to be huge!
The fashion show was styled by Charlie Anderson and was produced by London Fashion Week’s OnOff designers, The Doll. It featured 54 of the latest looks, from the high street to designers. In total over 700 of the top fashion brands were featured.

As well as a fashion show and the usual cocktails and champagne, was a raffle. They also auctioned off some goodies including this dress.

The fashion show ended on a high with the designer Pam Hogg taking to the decks, to DJ us into the night with some good old fashion rock 'n' roll music.
